The original name of V-Advance was WiPromote. After we received support from UnLtd in September 2009, the name was changed to V-Advance. V-Advance is directed by David Braithwaite and has primarily concentrated on writing and design work. V-Advance is unique because ever since it began it has been an online volunteering project. Online volunteering was an extremely new concept in 2009 when the project began and it was one of the first projects of its kind when it began. Previously, V-Advance used to, among other things, create our own challenges such as wordsearches and create our own exclusive challenges too. That's right, we came up with challenges that no-one else had come up with. Now, V-Advance concentrates mostly on design and we design designs for an organisation that is converting much of the Bible in to pictures. We also design online merits. We are continuing the merit system of badges, trophies, online certificates, points and hall of fame to award volunteers for their work. V-Advance is volunteer inspired and aims to inspire volunteering, working in conjunction with vinspired so that all volunteers can get well awarded for their work.

It works simply like this. Using the power of online, V-Advance aims to inspire volunteering offline and we do this by awarding volunteers with online merits. It's as simple as that. But saying it like that makes it sound so dull! Hall of fame! Scoresheets! Points! Trophies! Certificates! All online. V-Advance works to spicen up your volunteering experience and we're doing it all for free. We believe volunteers are best inspired by other volunteers. And since we've had the experience of providing our own volunteers with this merit system we created from scratch, for a span of over a decade, we think we're pretty good at it.

The opportunities we have are mainly in design, but we also have opportunities in music making, typing, video making and promoting the project. 

 

Volunteers who work for V-A must display a range of skills, including communication and co-operation which are the building blocks of any good employee.
